We’re moving into a new home that has hookups for either. Which would be the best for us to go with…gas or electric?

I think it’s paper towels, simply because of the energy it takes to harvest wood, the chemicals in it, the energy it takes to manufacture and package, the packaging and all of the costs of manufacturing that, and the landfill space that it hogs.

I’m feeling jipped! It really sucked when they went from 1/2 gallon to 1.75 qts. Now they made it 1.5 qts. I love both of them, but why screw us like that. I have been buying the local store brand and it’s not as creamy, but it’s good. Maybe I’ll try making my own! Boo on Dryers and Bryers! They suck

Please share your methods to avoid your laundry being stolen at public washing machines and dryers. I figured that there had to be a lock for sale, but haven’t been able to find any online. I have to do LOTS of laundry because I’ve got a baby and the baby clothes get stolen all the time. I can’t stay in the laundry room during the whole process. Any ideas of locking the machines would be greatly appreciated.

Miriam H asked:

We have to replace our old stackable vented washer/drier becasue we have moved it to a new spot where it isn’t vented properly (it makes moistrure drip down the walls of the small area it is in).

Will a ventless (condensation) drier really solve this problem? (or solve it enough)?
Thanks!

Arlene

A typical household circuit is capable of carrying 15.0 A of current at 120 V before the circuit breaker will trip. How many 1500-W hair dryers can run off one such circuit?

My dryer has a built in lint catcher and has the vent connected to a metal pipe and the lint that escapes thru the exhaust area goes into the attic and my husband says there are lint catchers availabe to install at the end of the accordion vent. But we have looked and found nothing. I did read something about putting a nylon stocking to catch the lint, but my husband says we would have to clean it everyday and that it is a fire hazard. My dryer sits in an awkward area where cleaning the back of the machine is hard to do. I know some of the lint travels to the attic and thru ac ducts to the other rooms. There is always a lot of lint in the house.
