Hair dryer, also known as blow dryer, is an electric device for blowing hot, warm, or cool air onto damp hair. The device is very useful for everyone to creating, drying, or styling hair quickly. It is easy to use. But, if you do not use it safely, it can damageyour hair. The heat output from a hair dryer can be very dangerous. The hair can be going to dry, damage, shaft splits at the end, falls out, and then you lose your beautyful hair. Once your hair got damage, hard for you to repair it. To minimize these risks, there are many steps you should follow when you are blow drying your hair:

1. Read the instruction manual that comes with the hair dryer’s box before you use the hair dryer. It gives you important safety information and also ensures you to avoid any risk.

2. Use hairdryer if you only need to use it. Use a fan or dry hair naturally is the best way to avoid heat. Using towel dry & fan are far better for you.

3. Do not use hairdryer in the shower. If you forgot to switch off the shower before attempting to dry your hair, you can get a shock.

4. Do not blow dry wet hair because it can burn your hair. Towel off your hair first to make it damp before dry it.

5. Apply mousse or serum to protects hair from the heat, damage, and sun.

6. Before you plug the cable in, make sure the switches are off.

7. Set the heat frequency at low level, then you can set it at higher level as you need when you are operating it.

8. You can also use a hair dryer diffuser to add volume & texture.

9. Start drying from the roots to the ends. Do it from a distance to avoid burning. Do it gently without direct it to the face area or to one place.

10. Use a soft brush rather than a comb when the hair is going to dry. It helps you to drying hair quickly. Brush the hair gently.

11. Always turn off and unplug the hair dryer when you are done. Then, store device in a cool, dry place.

Lee Laz asked:

The drying of clothes has been a great problem for a long time. One had to hang the clothes out in the sun to dry. The reality is that the sun does not shine for 365 days in a year and clothes would end up not drying for many days. This was a great problem especially during winter. The advent of dryers solved this problem because they provide a more convenient way to dry your clothes. Dryers are available in the market in an assortment of designs and capabilities. It is a regular appliance in the household laundry and services.

A long time ago, many people used to wash their clothing on a regular basis, and the clothes would take almost a whole day to dry. The dryers have made it possible to change the drying of clothes from taking a whole day to a few hours or minutes. You can then use the time saved from washing and drying the clothes for other productive activities.

The dryers are available in the market and you can either choose the spin dyers or tumble dryers. They have been incorporated for drying clothes in both the home and the laundry industry.

Spin dyers are much better than tumble dryers. When it comes to electricity consumption, they are known to be among the highest consumers of power in the household. A tumble dryer uses heat to dry the clothes unlike the spin dryer that rotates the clothes at a high speed and because of centrifugal force most of the water is removed from the clothes and it will take less time to dry them. A normal tumble dryer uses about 2400 watts compared to a spin dyer that uses just 400 watts of power. This is because the tumble dryer needs a lot of power to heat it up inside while the spin dryer does not use that much power for its small motor.

The tumble dyer is, however, a faster way of drying the clothes than the spin dryer. Depending on the type of tumble dryer, it is possible to have the clothes dry within minutes. To save the electricity cost by a tumble dryer you can spin-dry the clothes prior to tumble-drying. By spin drying the clothes for five minutes could reduce the time taken to dry the clothes by an hour. In one hour, a tumble dryer consumes about 2.4 kWh of electricity while the spin dryer uses 0.03 kWh for five minutes. Therefore you can achieve saving1.2 kWh of electricity per load. You are also able to reduce the carbon emissions by having the tumble dryer on for a short period.

A spin dryer is more efficient than a tumble dryer because it can pay for itself within its operational lifetime with savings on electricity.  When selecting the type of spin dryer to look for consider the rotational speed, which ranges from 2500 to 3300 rotations per minute. The greater the speed of the spin dryer the more efficient it is.

Simplicity asked:

but this is the rain season. I put the clothes over the couches to dry, which take about two to three days. Does all this drying have any bad effect on the fabric or couch sponges (Mildew, bacterial growth etc.)? Does the water evaporate from the clothes into the air or does it sink into the couches? I haven’t found anything but I was warned not to do so.

From work boots to ski wear to cold water rescue suits and beyond, there are certain types of apparel that have a predisposition to getting wet. Furthermore, items such as these don’t let themselves to being dried by tumble style dryers. The trick is in finding clothes dryers and boot dryers that were created for the very purpose of drying just such apparel, and luckily there is just such a solution: residential and commercial direct air dryers from Williams Direct Dryers™.

Our electric wall mount and portable dryers set the standard because they use forced warm air, the most effective form of drying there is. Warm air holds more vapor than cold air, enhancing the rate of drying our electric dryers provide. And because these machines can operate equally in cooler conditions there is no end to the people and industries that can use them. In addition, nearly all of our dryers offer the option of warm or ambient forced air drying at the flick of a switch.

Our boot dryers are hand made from welded metal construction and feature a powder coated finish. Williams Direct Dryers™ are the only dryers that use technology that dries from the toughest part of the boot to dry, the toe, backward. Also, our dryers do not inject a disinfectant into the fabric. Ozone is commonly used for this purpose but is both a pollutant and harmful to humans and corrosive to fabric.

From private residences to ski resorts, and 5-star hotels to NASA, the United State and Canadian military, law enforcement and fire and rescue services, the list of those who depend on our direct air dryers is impressive indeed. The greatest tribute to their effectiveness is the fact that professionals who depend on their gear in life threatening situations also depend on our dryers. In fact our dryers are used worldwide to dry personal protective equipment in an NFPA friendly way.

Why? Because wet gear is a health issue plain and simple. Under certain conditions wet turnout gear can result in steam burns, while wet cold water rescue suits have been known to cause blood-born infections. Other serious medical problems have also been attributed to wetness in boots and clothing, making optimum and timely drying not only a matter of comfort but also of common sense.

Ski boots, work boots, hazmat suits, SCBA facepieces, cold water rescue suits… there is literally no end to the types of apparel our residential, commercial, in-locker, and duty gear dryers can dry in a timely fashion. Make certain your gear is dry, comfortable, and safe to wear every time. Depend on the winning combination of warm forced air and the dryer company that brought electric air dryers to the industry: Williams Direct Dryers™.

Tisha Miller asked:

If dryers and washing machines are combined together, they call it washer dryers.

Owing one of these appliances helps you in many ways. If your home is small, such a home appliance can help you save more space in your home. Besides that, you can also save time when you load dirty clothes into just one machine for both washing and drying purposes. You simple need to load your dirty laundry in one machine when your finished in washing and the clothes are dry and clear.

Some people use to say that washer and dryer combo machines are easily broken or fragile. On the contrary, our view is different from this. If you have done the comparison on the washing machines in the market, most of latest washer dryers possess features seen with both washing machine and dryers. Truth is, it costs just the same as buying the two appliances. So why not opt for one then?

Having one of this doesn’t mean that when you wash, you also have to use the dryer of the other way around. If you want to do just one activity, it is possible because the washer dryers maybe combined together but it still works independently.

Washer dryer has an issue that the machine could be a disadvantage to a person. Because the drum of the machine acts for both washing and drying, it may takes more time in drying clothes. Most of us are used to drying our clothes to moist and air-drying them until it is completely dry because it helps to lengthen the life of clothes. Washer-dryers are perfect for this. But washer dryer appliance is not good for people who remove fluffy, dry and hot towels from the dryer.

One more problem in having a washer dryer is when you start washing or drying activities, the door stays locked until the cycle is over. It means that you need to wait for the cycle is over if you would want to add some fabric softener sheets, wait until the wash cycle is over for the door locks could be unlocked. Then you could start the dryer and add fabrics you want to add.

In conclusion, washer-dryer combo appliance is a great thing to save time and space. The inconveniences and problems are considered to be small and certainly should not hinder you to seriously consider them.
