My dryer has a built in lint catcher and has the vent connected to a metal pipe and the lint that escapes thru the exhaust area goes into the attic and my husband says there are lint catchers availabe to install at the end of the accordion vent. But we have looked and found nothing. I did read something about putting a nylon stocking to catch the lint, but my husband says we would have to clean it everyday and that it is a fire hazard. My dryer sits in an awkward area where cleaning the back of the machine is hard to do. I know some of the lint travels to the attic and thru ac ducts to the other rooms. There is always a lot of lint in the house.

The dryer should install booster fan from an appliance parts retailer if your dryer should clean out the escaping lint outside with no matter what you should have enough force.
